Who needs "Outfoxed"? Here's all you need to see where FOX News Channel is coming from: after placing two back-page ads in
The Nation (the second after the first caused an outcry and 50 cancelled subscriptions),
FOX has rejected an ad from the magazine that would have run during the RNC.
The text:
Nobody owns The Nation. Not Time Warner, not Murdoch. So there's no corporate slant, no White House spin. Just the straight dope.
CNN, by the way, accepted the ad. (On the other hand -- and avert your eyes if you have a weak stomach) -- the word around town is that
Daryn Kagan and Rush Limbaugh are "friendly.") Ew.
And did you notice, earlier in that NY Daily News column, a lovely transcription of Dennis Hastert's remarks about George Soros (on FOX News, of course):
"You know, I don't know where George Soros gets his money. I don't know where - if it comes overseas or from drug groups or where it comes from," Hastert mused. An astonished Chris Wallace asked: "Excuse me?" The Speaker went on: "Well, that's what he's been for a number years - George Soros has been for legalizing drugs in this country. So, I mean, he's got a lot of ancillary interests out there." Wallace: "You think he may be getting money from the drug cartel?" Hastert: "I'm saying I don't know where groups - could be people who support this type of thing. I'm saying we don't know."
I'd like him to go on
Hardball and say that. Michelle Malkin is one thing, but wouldn't it be fun to see Chris Matthews kick the Speaker off the show?
